In memory of …
We remind you on this occasion that if you make yourself known to our Secretariate, during the anniversaries of mourning (Yahrzeit) of your parents and relatives, it will be a duty to inform you in good time of the religious date on which you must celebrate these birthdays, and therefore recite the Kaddish.
A light will be lit at the Synagogue Montevideo on these dates, for no cost to our members.
The names you communicate to us will be added to those already recorded in the Great Book of Remembrance and for which the Yizkor will be the occasion of a unique and collective reminder.
Tradition has it that the prayer for the rest of the souls (Yizkor) of loved ones whose disappearance we mourn should be accompanied by a donation made in the name of the deceased for the benefit of a work.
You have the possibility of fulfilling this religious duty of filial piety by offering a donation for worship or for the Talmud Torah (to make a donation, CLICK HERE).
To commemorate the memory of the deceased members of our Community, a special prayer in memory of the dead will be recited during Yom Kippur service after the Torah reading on afternoon, at approximately 4:00 p.m.
